Bautype in the classroom

Bautype is a game based on the typography designed by the artist Eva Kaluzova that activates basic areas of cognitive development and concentration. It brings together alphabet learning and modular design. Colour, shape and dimensions are combined so that we can build letters. We use flashcards where we propose one of the many ways of building these letters with the wooden parts that come in the game. On the back of the cards we will find a brief and basic explanation of a concept, an artist, an artistic work, etc. and later on a challenge or activity is proposed, also related to the game. making use of creativity of the youngest children and also, on occasion, generating debate in the classroom on the concept in question.

The toy has been designed to offer a support of total creative freedom. Its pieces can shape letters in an infinite number of ways, as well as animals, buildings and other designs. Players are gradually drawn into an activity that will demand focus and concentration, and away from the screen.

Bautype is a comprehensive literacy set, The project proposes a whole series of writing and design skills, generating very artistic graphics, which, when they are created, fix the calligraphic and spatial knowledge of the alphabet, achieving these skills in a fun and creative way.

Bautype evolves throughout the early stages of learning, The project, reinforcing the alphabet and presenting it in a very attractive way, and then, after a few years, generating debates and conversations around concepts and artistic movements. According to the experts consulted, it is a very suitable option for different educational and pedagogical methods such as Montessori, Waldorf, Amara Berri, Reggio Emilia, Pikler...
